The Nature of Creativity
Well, we did it.
Three amazing local speakers, two stunning musicians, four local Sunshine Coast adventure films, four TEDtalks, a sound demonstration, a lobby full of happenings, and an afternoon art project unveiled that was created by using all the attendees submissions. The event was free to attend for 100 people and was fully catered from morning through the afternoon break. The gallery was tricked out with local art from Slo Gallery , and the breathtaking stage design was contructed by local artist Robert Studer of This is it Design. We will be updating this website as videos are edited, and reviews come in. We hope that this website will satisfy the curiosity of those who wanted to attend and couldn't, and also those who have heard about it through word of mouth. About TEDxSecheltThe theme of TEDxSechelt is ‘The Nature of Creativity' with discussions about music, art and education as a tool for social change. We believe in the power of ideas and want to bring together a cross-section of people from our community, representing different backgrounds and interests, to share their thoughts, passions, and creative insights.
TEDxSechelt will feature interactive demonstrations of music software and iPad story applications. There will be live music, installations from local arts organizations, films, and inspired thinking about mountain bike culture. Featured speakers include Matthew Talbot Kelly (Narratives in an Imaginative Landscape), Giorgio Magnanensi (Sound Thinking), and Jay Hoots (Designing Sustainable Bike Trails).TEDxSechelt will feature interactive demonstrations of forward thinking music software, iPad story applications, live music, local arts organizations, films, inspired thinking about Mountain Biking Culture and much more. The event will take place at Chatelech Secondary School, in the lobby area as well as the main theatre. The stage concept and surrounding venue will be transformed by Robert Studer and Beth Hawthorn of This is it design company, in collaboration with Deer Crossing the Art Farm and Slo Art Craft and Gallery. |
