Giorgio Magnanensi - Sound Thinking![]() Described by acclaimed composer Franco Donatoni as “a composer, musician and conductor of great talent and one of the most interesting personalities of the Italian generation,” Giorgio Magnanensi has gained an international reputation winning numerous composition awards, and serving as conductor for a number of esteemed Canadian and international new music ensembles. Magnanensi’s music, which includes over 80 orchestral, chamber, electronic, and multimedia works, strives “to emphasize the value of difference, communication, and active participation in the creative process as a path towards a deeper availability to the encounter.” His diverse artistic practice includes composition, conducting, improvisation, circuit bending and video art. Giorgio will be exploring the art of Sound Thinking.
Mathew Talbot Kelly - Narratives in an Imaginative Landscape![]() Matthew Talbot Kelly is an award-winning experimental filmmaker and iOS app developer. Since receiving an analog B. of Arch., MTK's digital output spreads from film & TV, to art & exhibition design, from graphics & broadcast design, to animation and iOS apps. In 2005, Matthew founded the film, animation & design studio Glimpse Digital Ltd. He is the director of two experimental films Blind Man’s Eye (2007) & The Trembling Veil of Bones (2010). In 2010, Matthew brought his restless creative spirit and part-time good humour to the founding and creation of iOS content makers Moving Tales Inc. He started Moving Tales "to expand and explore storytelling on the iOS platform. Moving Tales' apps have aspects of books, animated films, storytelling and interactive media, and the end result is much greater than the sum of its parts.” Matthew will be speaking about "narratives in an imaginative landscape".

![]() Jay Hoots is a legend in British Columbia mountain bike culture. He is the President and Founder of Hoots Inc., an accomplished skills park and trail design/build company committed to the creation of exceptional physicalities that meet the changing needs of a community and address the ongoing developments of the sport. Hoots Inc. leads the world in skills park development and continues with partners globally while focusing on over 30 national projects. These include multiple trail projects from access and hiking to all types of bike related trails. Jay will be talking about the creative process of designing sustainable Mountain Bike trails.
